Our Story
ILI Maryland began in 1995 under the name "English House," a small classroom in Gaithersburg where a passionate group of English teachers believed that language learning should be immersive, personal, and transformative.
Over the years, our school grew alongside the diverse communities of Montgomery County. We expanded from a handful of students to hundreds, added programs for every need and schedule, and earned ACCET accreditation — the mark of quality in continuing education.
Today, we're proud to be part of the Transemantics Inc. family of language schools, alongside our sister campus ILI Washington DC. Together, we've helped students from over 50 countries achieve their English goals.
But our mission remains the same as it was in 1995: to provide world-class English instruction in a supportive, community-centered environment where every student feels at home.
